KOTA KINABALU: Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) has denied claims of a power shift in the party's chapter in Labuan.
Warisan secretary-general Loretto Padua Jr (pix) said the party's chapter in Labuan was still in the process of being established, and the leadership at the Labuan-level was still protem.
"The question of gaining 50% support from the Labuan Warisan leaders does not arise at all because as it is protem, the Labuan chief coordinator is appointed directly by the Warisan headquarters.
"We welcome support from all parties, but all the procedures set must be adhered to," he said in a statement today.
The local media reported today that former Labuan MP Datuk Suhaili Abd Rahman has received the support of more than half of Labuan Warisan members to lead the party in the duty free state.
Loretto said he had personally contacted the Labuan coordinating secretary to discuss what could and could not be done by the party's chapter in Labuan as it was still protem. — Bernama
