HRDF CEO Vignaesvaran resigns

PUTRAJAYA: The Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) has announced that its chief executive officer Datuk CM Vignaesvaran Jeyandran has tendered his resignation effective Thursday.
In a statement today, the Human Resources Ministry's agency also announced that its deputy chief executive officer Lim Kah Cheng will be acting chief executive, effective immediately.
"The Minister of Human Resources has directed HRDF to establish a Governance Oversight Committee with a mandate to assist HRDF's Board of Directors to fulfil its oversight responsibilities.
"The Committee shall review all aspects of the Board's governance framework to ensure the Board functions in an effective and efficient manner, to support the operations of the HRDF."
HRDF stated that members of the committee will be announced following HRDF's Annual General Meeting next week.
"HRDF will continue its mandate to promote efforts to up-skill, re-skill and multi-skill Malaysian talent for global competitiveness."
Lim graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Technology from the University of Science Malaysia and pursued his Masters in Business Administration at University Putra Malaysia.
He is also a Chartered Fellow with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) as well as the first Fellow of the Australian Human Resources Institute (FAHRI) in Malaysia.
The resignation came as no surprise following claims of an alleged misappropriation of RM300 million in funds which smeared HRDF's reputation.
As a result, three HRDF board directors who were involved in training projects tendered their resignations on June 11.
