PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has denied that the commission had issued a statement relating to the misappropriation and corruption involving Kelantan PAS.
Its deputy chief commissioner (Operations), Datuk Seri Azam Baki said the MACC had found that there were irresponsible quarters who had been using its name and that of chief commissioner, Datuk Seri Mohd Shukri Abdull to have the statement go viral recently.
"Such an act is deemed as trying to tarnish the reputation of the MACC.
"(We) would like to emphasise here that the MACC is committed to performing its duties in an independent, transparent and professional manner under the leadership of the MACC chief commissioner, without favouring any individual," he said in a statement issued here today.
Azam also advised members of the public not to share any unverified news using the names of the commission's top management. — Bernama
