Sarawak police nab man, seize drugs worth RM 329,250

KUCHING: Sarawak police have detained a man and seized syabu (methamphetamine) as well as ecstasy pills worth RM329,250 at the Courtyard Sanctuary Apartment in Batu Kawa here yesterday.
State Narcotics CID chief Supt Sahar Latif said acting on intelligence and public tip-off, a 26-year-old suspect was picked up at about 11.30am in the apartment car park.
"Further checks in his house led to the discovery of a plastic packet containing crystal powder, believed to be syabu, weighing 535g and a hair dryer box containing 4,980 ecstasy pills," he said in a statement here today.
Sahar said police also confiscated a Toyota Vios, a gold ring and earrings as well as some cash, all of which estimated to be worth RM69,593.
The suspect, who tested positive for methamphetamine, was detained to facilitate investigations under Sections 39B and 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, he added. — Bernama
