Temporary work visit passes revoked from 11th year
PUTRAJAYA: The Immigration Department has denied a newspaper report that the Home Ministry (KDN) was withdrawing the approval of extending the Visit Pass (Temporary Employment) or PLKS for the second and subsequent years approved by the previous government.
Immigration director-general Datuk Seri Mustafar Ali said the public, especially employers, should not panic because the revoked PLKS was approved for the 11th year and above.
"Employers do not have to worry and can seek to have the extension of their foreign workers as early as three months before the expiry date," he said in a statement here yesterday.
He said the decision was reached at a briefing on foreign workers and the department on June 7, chaired by Home Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin. — Bernama
