Trailer driver in Temerloh accident remanded for four days

KUANTAN: The driver of a trailer involved in an accident which claimed three lives at 149km Jalan Kuantan-Kuala Lumpur near Batu 7, Temerloh yesterday is being remanded for four days beginning today.
Temerloh police chief ACP Zundin Mahmood when contacted said the remand order was issued by Temerloh Lower Court assistant registrar Norita Md Noh.
He said the 31-year-old man was detained at 1.40pm yesterday after he surrendered at the Temerloh district police headquarters, about four hours after he fled the scene of the accident.
In the 9.14am incident, the trailer was believed to have skidded and swerved into the opposite lane before colliding with an MPV which a family of eight was travelling on and a Toyota Hilux.
The dead victims were two brothers Khasrul Haizal Mohd Yusof, 20, and Khasrul Ikhwan, 18, as well as the driver of the Toyota Hilux Chua Juh Shyong, 37. — Bernama
