Cops detain alleged road bully

    MALACCA: A man was held in connection with a road rage incident in Jalan Tokong here on Sunday in which a Rela personnel was the victim.
    Central Malacca district police chief ACP Afzanizar Ahmad said that in the 6.45pm incident, the Rela personnel, who is in his 30s, was on duty to control the traffic when he stopped a car for driving against the flow of traffic.
    "He (the Rela personnel) reprimanded the driver and told him to observe the traffic rules. But the driver went berserk and threatened the Rela personnel with a stick," Afzanizar told theSun.
    He said the suspect also told the Rela personnel that he would bring another friend to beat him up.
    Police have arrested a suspect yesterday following a report lodged by the victim.
    Afzanizar said the suspect, a businessman in his 40s, was picked up at a workshop in Taman Merdeka Jaya.
    Police also seized a stick believed to be the weapon the suspect used to threaten the Rela personnel.
    The case is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation.
