SUBANG JAYA: With just a scan of the QR code, Grab consumers can now pay for services on the Grab app or bills at any Grab merchants or partner without having to leave the app.
GrabPay Malaysia, Singapore and Philippines managing director Ooi Huey Ting said the newly enhanced GrabPay not only offers their consumers a safe, convenient and flexible way of payment, it also allows them to easily switch to the cashless and digital economy era.
"The perception of lack of safety and convenience that is stopping many Malaysians from adopting the cashless and digital economy will now be a thing of the past with GrabPay.
"This is because, through enhanced GrabPay mobile wallet, the millions of Grab consumers across the nation regardless of age can easily make payment for any Grab services like GrabFood or rides.
"At the same time, you can also pay any of our merchants or partners without having to download any additional apps or leaving the Grab app itself as all you need to do is just scan the GrabPay QR code in their establishments," Ooi said during the official launch of the Grab enhanced featured yesterday.
Ooi added that the new feature also allows their consumers to track their or their family members spending, allowing them to find out where or what their credits have been spent on.
"The GrabPay mobile wallet also comes with an instant credit transfer feature where consumers can transfer money immediately to their friends or family via phone numbers or the unique Grab QR code within the app.
"This new feature makes the hassle of transferring money easier, in cases where a group of friends want to split the restaurant bill or parents paying their children rides or meals," she said.
With the launch, GrabPay is now accepted in more than 500 F&B merchants spanning across eight cities nationwide, namely Klang Valley, Penang, Johor Bahru, Ipoh, Malacca, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching and Kuantan.
