Tee-off at 'Probably The Best Golf Tournament'
Returning for its 25th outing, the Carlsberg Golf Classic (CGC) tournament is back in full force as the biggest and longest-running amateur golf series in Malaysia.
Now offering approximately RM2.6 million in prizes, competitors can expect to tee off and enjoy the best sampling of beers and ciders.
Around 3,200 amateur golf competitors are expected to participate at this year’s CGC. The competition will be held at 34 exclusive golf clubs across Peninsular and East Malaysia from Jul 1 to Oct 13 prior to the national finals at Putrajaya’s Palm Garden Golf Club at IOI Resort on Oct 25.
“Twenty-five years is a significant milestone as it represents CGC’s unwavering support towards the game and the golf community. Proud to be ‘Probably The Best Golf Tournament’ in the eyes of many golf enthusiasts, we’ve raised the bar this year, with amazing prizes and fun activities with novelty shots on the green,” said Carlsberg Malaysia managing director Lars Lehmann.
“This year, the tournament will be nothing short of fun. Now, golfers can ‘POP’ a draught anywhere, when they are served ice-cold Carlsberg Smooth Draught with the easy-to-open ‘POP Cap’ on the green itself. Besides showing off their best golf swing, we challenge them and their flight mates to have the loudest ‘pop’ when they pull open a Carlsberg Smooth Draught to win more of ‘Probably The Smoothest Beer In the World’,” Lehmann added.
For those who prefer a fruity thirst-quencher, a Somersby Kombi mobile pop-up bar can be sought out for free samples of Somersby cider in three different flavours - Apple, Blackberry and Sparkling Rosé.
The prizes for nett and gross winners across all 34 qualifying legs include:
>Titoni premium timepieces;
>Ogawa massage cushions;
>TaylorMade drivers, putters and golf bags; and
>VIP passes to “Probably The Best Brewery Tour” at Carlsberg Malaysia’s Shah Alam brewery worth RM100 each.
Limited-edition Carlsberg golf caps will be up for grabs with every purchase of two buckets of Carlsberg Smooth Draught at participating golf clubs across the nation.
The 25th edition of the CGC also marks the biggest hole-in-one prizes of a Mercedes Benz E-Class and C-Class luxury sedans, offered alongside lucky draw prizes and via novelty prizes.
