KUALA LUMPUR: A condominium unit that was used as a meeting place for officials of 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) was raided by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) yesterday.
It is believed the unit, at 3 Kia Peng Apartments in Jalan Kia Peng, is owned by financier Low Taek Jho, better know as Jho Low.
Sources said there was no one at the apartment during the 11am raid.
Some documents were seized from the unit, but those were said to be "non-crucial and unimportant" to the 1MDB probe.
Based on the empty cabinets, it appeared that documents and other evidence that might have been useful in the investigations were recently removed.
Meanwhile, sources said MACC investigators have summoned two former top government officials for questioning over the probe.
They are Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Ali Hamsa and former Bank Negara Malaysia adviser Tan Sri Nor Mohamed Yakcop.
Also summoned were two political aides of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak.
One of them, aged 42, was arrested and remanded for a week on Monday.
