Tribute to Richard 'Old Man' Harrison in Pawn Stars marathon

29 Jun 2018 / 20:14 H.

IN TRIBUTE to Richard 'Old Man' Harrison's passing on June 25, History is presenting past episodes of Pawn Stars which show the Old Man in action.
After serving in the US Navy and losing a million dollars in the real estate market, Harrison uprooted his family and moved to Las Vegas in pursuit of a fresh start.
Opening the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in 1988, he had to learn a little about a lot really fast. From Rolexes to antique cars, Harrison was armed with the rare skill of assessing the value of anything accurately.
He was the king of purchasing underpriced merchandise, even from archival pawn shops, which has helped turn his initial US$10,000 investment into a multi-million-dollar business.
Disciplined, wise and cunning, Harrison drove a hard bargain and was anything but easy to please.
Catch this Old Man in action in six selected episodes from Pawn Stars, starting at 8.05pm tomorrow, on the History (Astro channel 555 / 575HD).
