Textile trader claims trial to hurting wife

PETALING JAYA: A textile trader pleaded not guilty in the magistrate's court here today to voluntarily causing hurt to his wife in March.
Faizal Ridza Alwi, 42, was charged with voluntarily causing hurt to his 36-year-old wife, including by hitting her on the face and abdomen at Jalan Persiaran Perdana, Bandar Sri Damansara, here at 1pm on March 12.
The charge, under Section 323 of the Penal Code, read together with Section 326A of the same code, provides for up to two years in prison, upon conviction.
Magistrate Nor Ariffin Hisham did not allow bail as no guarantor was present in court and fixed Aug 16 for mention.
Deputy public prosecutor Fazeedah Faik appeared for the prosecution. — Bernama
