PUTRAJAYA: About 50 supporters of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak made their way to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters, here, for a candle-light vigil last night.
His supporters lit forty candles in front of the main gate of the building where Najib was being held to show solidarity with the former prime minister.
The group had gathered at about 8.30pm last night to voice their dissatisfaction at the detention of Najib by the MACC and dispersed after about two hours.
Najib is expected to be charged later today over his alleged involvement in the misappropriation of funds totalling RM42 million from SRC International Sdn Bhd, a former subsidiary company of 1MDB.
He was detained by the MACC at 2.35pm today at his residence in Jalan Langgak Duta, Kuala Lumpur.
Najib has repeatedly denied any wrongdoings over the 1MDB scandal.
