KUANTAN: The Cadet Mylesen programme that helps students, aged 16 years and above, to take the B2 class motorcycle licence will begin this month.
Pahang Road Transport Department (JPJ) director Mohammad Abdullah said the programme would be implemented in collaboration with the State Education Department (NRD) and the schools to select eligible students.
"The Cadet Mylesen programme aims to reduce the number of motorcyclists who do not have driving licences and who use 'ghost' licences, especially within that age range.
"The first intake will comprise 30 students around Kuantan who will start training at driving institutes around the area," he said.
Muhammad was speaking to reporters at the Aidilfitri Open House organised by Pahang JPJ here today.
The participants are offered to take their B2 licence at RM199, compared to the ceiling market price of RM350 via the Cadet Mylesen programme, he said. — Bernama
