Uruguay's Cavani still struggling for fitness ahead of France clash

Uruguay's Edinson Cavani looks increasingly likely to miss Friday's World Cup quarter-final against France. Oscar Tabarez's team trained behind closed doors on Wednesday but Uruguayan media reported that Cavani was once again absent from the session.
The Paris Saint-Germain forward injured his right calf muscle in the win over Portugal in the last 16, coming off after 74 minutes. Tests, carried out on Monday, confirmed the player does not have a tear but he still seems to be losing his battle to start against France. If the 31-year-old misses the game, Cristhian Stuani is likely to take his place in the starting line-up for the two-time champions.
