Fire razes 50 houses in Lahad Datu

LAHAD DATU: Fire destroyed about 50 houses in the water village of Kampung Sharip Hujung near here early today, but no casualties were reported.
Lahad Datu Fire and Rescue Station chief Darren John said 16 firemen were rushed to the area in three trucks after being summoned at 1.06am and brought the blaze under control an hour later.
The cause of the fire and damage had yet to be ascertained, he told reporters when met at the scene. — Bernama
