IGP: No request for return of seized items
KUALA LUMPUR: Police confirmed that they have not received any formal request from former prime minister's wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor (pix) or anyone else for the return of valuables impounded in the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) investigation raids.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun said he has been checking on the 1MDB case status on a daily basis and he can confirm that no request or official appeal was made to date.
"We have laws here and this matter could involve court proceedings. If Rosmah or whoever else claiming ownership over the seized belongings valued in the millions of ringgits, it is better for them to follow the law and file a formal request for return of their properties," he told reporters after attending Police Corporation Annual Meeting here today.
