Death of boy: Police receive abuse report in 2016

KUANTAN: Police confirmed that they received a report of child abuse involving the 10-year-old boy who died here last Monday, two years ago.
Pahang police chief Datuk Seri Rosli Ab Rahman said police had completed the investigation paper on the case back then.
However, it was learnt that no prosecution was made due to lack of evidence, he told reporters at the 2018 Hari Raya gathering at the Pahang Police Contingent Headquarters here today.
Commenting on the death of the Year Four student of Sekolah Chung Ching Tanah Putih, Rosli said police had recorded statements from witnesses and searched the suspect's home.
"We have learnt that the victim's eight-year-old younger sibling is under the care of their grandmother in Klang, Selangor," he said.
It was reported yesterday that the victim was believed to have been abused by his mother at their house in Taman Permatang Badak Maju, Permatang Badak here.
Pahang Criminal Investigation Department chief ACP Othman Nayan said a post-mortem at the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital revealed that the victim died due to ruptured blood vessels or ulceration of the oesophagus.
The victim's parents are being remanded until Monday to facilitate investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. — Bernama
