PUTRAJAYA: Businessman Low Taek Jho, or Jho Low, is believed to be using a passport from another country to travel after the Immigration Department cancelled his passport last month, said Immigration director-general Datuk Seri Mustafar Ali.
"Right now, he is probably using another passport he might have," Mustafar told reporters at his office, here today.
Jho Low's passport was cancelled by the Immigration Department on June 15, following a request from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in relation to their investigations into the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) case.
When asked which country passport is used by Jho Low now, Mustafar did not know.
According to media reports, the Royal Malaysia Police sent a team to take Jho Low back from Hong Kong, but found that upon arrival he had fled to Macau. — Bernama
