Ahmad Zakiyuddin now in normal ward in Penang Hospital

GEORGE TOWN: Penang Deputy Chief Minister 1 Datuk Ahmad Zakiyuddin Abdul Rahman has been transferred to a normal ward at Penang Hospital.
According to source close to the family, Ahmad transfer from Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) to a normal ward was done after the 60-year-old politicians responded well since he regain consciousness today.
Ahmad is also expected to be warded for about one or two week depending on his health condition.
The source also revealed that Ahmad Zakiyuddin has become active and started to walk around the ward corridor without assistance.
Penang state health exco Dr Afif Bahardin during a press conference said the Pinang Tunggal assemblyman is in stable condition and recuperating at the hospital.
"He is ok, let him have a rest", he said.
theSun reached out to cardiologist Dr Shahul Hamid Ahmadsha who said an open heart surgery remain a risky procedure to every patient and have it own risk compare to complex angioplasty stenting.
He however said it is the best option for patient to choose with doctor advice as it enable the heart coronaries and function last longer.
"The risk is there,but with proper health care and health condition , the post operation outcome can stands for 10-12 years", he said.
Shahul also said a patient need about one or two months of rest depending on his health condition before he or she can resume her usual life after open heart surgery.
