Traveloka Malaysia to contribute RM1 for every flight or hotel booking (Corrected)

KUALA LUMPUR: Starting from next week, Malaysians who book flights or hotels via Traveloka have the option of contributing RM1 to Tabung Harapan Malaysia (THM) through Traveloka's Share Your Love for Malaysia campaign.
Traveloka country manager for Malaysia and Singapore Halif Hamzah said the campaign was launched in a bid to further boost patriotism among Malaysians in the run up to Merdeka Day on Aug 31.
"The campaign was inspired by the generosity displayed by Malaysians nationwide and around the world who have contributed to THM to help reduce the national debt of RM1 trillion.
"We are sure many more Malaysians wish to show their love for the country, so we launched this campaign," Halif said during the campaign launch today which was attended by deputy finance minister Datuk Amiruddin Hamzah.
To make the contribution, Halif said that Traveloka customers just need to input the code "MYHARAPAN" when they reach the payment page.
"Once the payment is done, Traveloka will then donate RM1 from the total payment to the fund," Halif explained.
He quipped that through this initiative, Malaysians can now kill two birds with one stone – their love of travel and their love for the country.
As of today, THM which was launched by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad on May 30 have collected some RM144.6 million.
The fund was launched by the premier after many Malaysians had voiced their intention to help the government to reduce the debt inherited from the previous administration.
