PGPF hopes to revive Kuala Lumpur War Crimes Tribunal

KUALA LUMPUR: The Perdana Global Peace Foundation (PGPF) will continue to fight for criminalising war and genocides of Israel against the people of Palestine in 2013.
Its Board of Trustees member, Dr Zulaikha Ismail to achieve the mission, PGPF hopes to revive the Kuala Lumpur War Crimes Tribunal (KLWCT).
"The KLWCT in 2013 was very expensive but I hope we can revive it. We must take advantage while Tun Mahathir is Prime Minister because he believes in criminalising war," she told Bernama after the ''Dialogue Criminalising War: Gaza'', here today.
Through the KLWCT 2013, we had set the groundwork to achieve the objective, but it is not easy as people think, she added.
The KLWCT which was helmed by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad since December 2005 noted that all leaders who initiate aggression must be subjected to the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court.
KLWCT 2013 passed two judgements against former US president George W Bush, Dick Cheney (former US vice-president, Donald Rumsfeld (former US secretary of defence) for war crimes in Iraq and against Israel on charges of genocide against Palestinians.
Meanwhile, award-winning author Prof Michel Chossudovsky believed in the leadership and commitment of Mahathir to the foreign policy agenda.
"I believe that Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir will take specific stand on the issue (Palestine). Undivided support from the grassroots is very crucial for this new government.
"And I am sure that all decisions regarding Gaza will be taken into consideration but again it is not an easy task, considering the current diplomacy is more complex," he said. — Bernama
