Cityliner halts six out of seven routes in north

ALOR STAR: Stage bus operator Cityliner has discontinued six out of seven routes in Kedah and Penang because it can no longer bear the high cost of operations.
Kedah Agriculture and Agro-based Industry, Transport and Human Capital Development Committee chairman Azman Nasrudin announced at a press conference here that the discontinuation is effective today.
He said that only the Alor Star-Sungai Petani route was still in operation.
The routes discontinued are Alor Star-Pendang, Sungai Petani-Kuala Ketil-Jeniang, Sungai Petani- Taman Bandar Baru, Sungai Petani-Taman Ria Jaya, Sungai Petani-Kuala Muda-Pantai Merdeka, Sungai Petani-Taman Keladi, Sungai Petani-Taman Kelisa and Sungai Petani-Butterworth.
