Punters win RM61.7m in Sports Toto jackpots

PETALING JAYA: It was a lucky month of June for several punters as they managed to walked away with some RM61.7 million in Sports Toto jackpots.
Of the whopping jackpots amount, Sports Toto Malaysia Sdn Bhd said that a lucky winner from Selangor walked away with RM26.8 million from Sports Toto 4D Jackpot 1 on June 27.
"The winner who came to collect his winnings said that he had been betting the same pair of 4D numbers for more than 10 years.
"The 69-year old winner had spent RM6 to buy a System 3 Toto 4D Jackpot ticket, which helped to increase his chances of winning by betting three sets of numbers," Sports Toto said in a statement.
Another winner from the pool of RM61.7 million jackpots is a 70-year old retiree from Sarawak and he had won RM22.9 million from the Supreme Toto 6/58 jackpot on June 3.
"Being a Lotto fan himself, the winner said he had bought three sets of numbers for his ticket with five same numbers for each set and this won him an additional RM13,776 for winning second prize of the Supreme Toto 6/58 on top of his winning jackpot amount of RM22.9 million," the statement reads.
The remaining of the RM61.7 million jackpot amount went to several winners from Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Johor, Sabah and Sarawak as they shared the RM11.9 million Toto 4D Jackpot 2 on June 20 due to the cascading effect of the Toto 4D Jackpot 1.
"Cascading takes place when the Toto 4D Jackpot 1 hits RM30 million. The amount in excess of RM20 million shall cascade and be added to the Toto 4D Jackpot 2 if there is no Jackpot 1 winner for that draw," it said.
