SUBANG JAYA: A restaurant owner lost RM24,000 to two slick thieves after he made a brief stop at a clinic on Jalan Bandar Puchong Utama 3, Puchong on Monday.
The thieves are believed to have trailed the 68-year-old businessman who had earlier made his rounds collecting the day's takings at his three restaurants in Damansara.
Subang Jaya police chief ACP Mohd Azlin Sadari said the victim had stepped out of the clinic after seeking treatment at about 9.30pm and was viewing his cellphone while seated in his car when a man appeared next to his vehicle.
He said the thief opened the driver's door and snatched his bag before rushing to a waiting accomplice who was on a motorcycle. The thieves fled the scene before the victim could react.
Mohd Azlin said apart from the cash, the businessman also lost his house and car keys.
