KUALA LUMPUR: The weekly Cabinet meeting on Wednesdays will be switched to Fridays whenever Parliament is in session, said Dewan Rakyat Deputy Speaker Nga Kor Ming.
He said he was informed by his colleagues in the government administration that the decision would come into effect immediately.
"I was informed about the decision and I think this is a good move by the government as due respect should be given to Parliament.
"For me, personally, I think that if a minister cannot attend, at least the deputy minister can take over (attend)," he said when met by reporters at the Parliament lobby here today.
Yesterday, the several opposition MPs pointed out the absence of MPs who were ministers and deputy ministers during Dewan Rakyat sitting in the afternoon. — Bernama
