SEREMBAN: More than 400 traders at the Seremban Central Market will be exempted from paying monthly rental of between RM100 and RM200 for the month of Aug until Dec this year.
Mentri Besar Aminuddin Harun said the state government sympathised with the traders concerned who had been complaining of poor business as not many people patronised the market because of parking problems there.
He said the traders were those affected in the fire which broke out at the market in Sept last year and as a result of that, they were now operating their business temporarily at the parking area at the market pending completion of the repair work on the building.
The traders occupy the car park area, hence the parking problems there, he told reporters after visiting the Seremban Central Market here today.
Also present were the State Urban Wellbeing, Housing, Local Government and New Village Committee chairman Teo Kok Seong and the Seremban Municipal Council president Datuk Abd Halim Abd Latif.
He said the upgrading works at the market was expected to be fully completed by the end of the year.
Meanwhile, Aminuddin, who is also Sikamat State Assemblyman said he would be at his office at the community service centre in Taman Megaway, Sikamat, every Friday from 10am to 12.30pm to meet his constituents. — Bernama
