KUALA LUMPUR: The public have been urged to be wary of a cadet study scam that uses Malindo Air's brand name without authorisation from the airline.
The company said in a statement today that the scammer would call their targeted 'candidates' to offer a cadet sponsorship to study at a flying school.
"Upon acceptance of the offer, the candidate will need to pay RM4,500 in advance as the fees for books and uniforms.

"Malindo Air strongly advise the public to disregard such scams and Malindo Air will not be held liable for any claims pertaining to the false scheme.
"All official announcements of Malindo Air are made via the airline's official channels and credible mass media," it said, adding legal action will be taken against individuals or groups who organise illegal schemes using the Malindo Air brand.
The public are also urged to consult its official channels at www.malindoair.com, https://twitter.com/malindoair and Facebook.com/MalindoAirMalaysia for further information.
