Mavcom's commissioner is its new chief

KUALA LUMPUR: The Commissioner of the Malaysian Aviation Commission (Mavcom), Dr. Nungsari Ahmad Radhi has been appointed as the aviation industry regulating body's new executive chairman.
His appointment was announced by Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook earlier today.
Nungsari who has served as Mavcom's commissioner since its inception on March 1, 2016 will be replacing Tan Sri Gen (Rtd) Abdullah Ahmad who left the commission in early July.
"With Dr. Nungsari's appointment, he will be assuming all executive duties formerly undertaken by the former Executive Chairman, Tan Sri Abdullah Ahmad, RMAF (Retd). He will be supported by MAVCOM's Commissioners and senior management," said Mavcom in a statement.
The Commission would like to take this opportunity to thank Tan Sri Abdullah Ahmad for his leadership over the past two years," it added.
It was previously reported that Abdullah earned about RM85,000 a month, which Loke described as over four times what Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad earns.
Nungsari is also the managing director of Prokhas Sdn Bhd, a Minister of Finance, Inc. company and sits in the boards of Pengurusan Danaharta Nasional Berhad, Syarikat Jaminan Pembiayaan Perniagaan Berhad and Syarikat Jaminan Kredit Perumahan Berhad.
In a career spanning over 30 years, Dr. Nungsari has been in academia, corporate advisory, economic research and policy advocacy and holds a PhD in Economics from Purdue University.
