Tahfiz school principal is PKR's pick for Sungai Kandis by-election

SHAH ALAM: The principal of Maahad Tahfiz Al Fateh Jalan Kebun, Mohd Zawawi Ahmad Mughni has been chosen as PKR's candidate to defend the seat for Pakatan Harapan in the Sungai Kandis by-election on Aug 4.
Deputy Prime Minister and PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail made the announcement when launching the party election machinery in Padang Rakyat Kampung Jalan Kebun here tonight.
"I know many feel that they are qualified and can win but there can only be one candidate … we want to keep Sungai Kandis.
"As such, I ask that all of us give our full support, whether we were chosen or not (to be the candidate) work hard to ensure PKR and Pakatan Harapan's victory for a glorious Selangor," she said.
Mohd Zawawi, 47, is also the secretary of PKR's Religious Bureau. — Bernama
