Ceramah permit for Sg Kandis by-election obtainable online

SHAH ALAM: Application for the permit to hold 'ceramah' for the by-election campaign for Sungai Kandis state constituency can be made online.
Shah Alam district police chief, ACP Baharudin Mat Taib (pix) said such application, which was being introduced for the first time, could be made by the candidate or his/her agent.
"They can just e-mail the permit application to kpdshahalam@rmp.gov.my," he said when met by reporters at the nomination for the by-election, here today.
He added, however, the permit was only for the ceramah held at the Shah Alam police administration area.
"For ceramah in Klang Selatan, the application must be made (to the authorities) there," said Baharudin.
He said that previously, permit application for the ceramah could only be made manually at the district police headquarters concerned.
The by-election for the Sungai Kandis state constituency on Aug 4 will see a three-cornered fight between the PKR candidate Mohd Zawawi Ahmad Mughni, Barisan Nasional's Datuk Lokman Noor Adam and Independent candidate K. Murthy.
It is being held following the death of incumbent Mat Shuhaimi Shafiei due to lymphoma cancer on July 2. — Bernama
