PETALING JAYA: Former premier Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak has called on the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government to continue with projects that benefit the people and cancel those they think otherwise.
Citing the recently cancelled MRT3 project as an example, Najib said that the PH government should not cancel it just because it was something undertaken by the previous administration.
"Instead, they should weigh the pro(s) and con(s) of such a project. If the project is considered to be beneficial to the people, then by all means it should be continued.
"Furthermore, it is also the responsibility of the government to make any of those projects better so that those that voted them in deserve what they had asked for," Najib said during his birthday celebration organised by his family and friends at his residence in Jalan Langgak Duta, here on Saturday.
Najib, who turns 65 today, had welcomed some 100 relatives, friends and supporters to his home.
"Myself, Rosmah (Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor) and the family would like to express our thanks and gratitude to each of you that attended this celebration.
"The celebration is meaningful as some of you had used your own expenses as well as made a contribution for this. I really appreciate your kind gesture," he said.
Present was Najib's mother Tun Rahah Mohamad Noah, Rosmah, his siblings and children, as well as family members of victims of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17, which was shot down four years ago, killing all 298 aboard.
