MIC Youth demands clarity over M'sian Indian Blueprint

IPOH: MIC Youth is disappointed with the answer given by Pakatan Harapan (PH) on the Malaysian Indian Blueprint which was formulated by the previous Barisan Nasional (BN) government.
Its chief Datuk C. Sivarraajh said the PH government has not been clear on whether it would be maintained.
"As promised in PH's manifesto for the Indian community, Human Resources Minister M. Kulasegaran said the government is studying whether to maintain the blueprint or not. There is also a possibility the blueprint will be streamlined with the manifesto based on his (Kulasegaran's) reply.
"However my question is that the PH government had made several U-turns from the manifesto which was presented to the people in the GE14," he said in a press statement referring to answers given in the ongoing parliament session.
The Cameron Highlands MP said the previous government had promised and drawn up a strategy and mechanism to ensure the intake into universities and institutes of higher learning will be increased to a minimum of seven percent and also a similar percentage in the public sector.
"However the recent developments are disappointing since the PH government failed to follow the initiatives of the BN administration to safeguard the interests and welfare of the community.
"The failure by the new government to come out with a mechanism similar to BN will only hinder the entry and increase in intake of students and those applying for jobs in the civil service. I hope the government will fulfill all the promises pledged in the manifesto for the Indian community," he added.
