DUNGUN: The Malaysia Technology Development Corporation (MTDC) will continue to invest in local health supplement manufacturer Bioalpha Holdings Bhd (Bioalpha) after seeing the company successfully penetrate local and Asian markets.
MTDC CEO Datuk Norhalim Yunus said this would be part of the medium-term plan with Bioalpha, which is growing its business through various research and development (R&D) programmes related to food technology, marketing and opening up job opportunities at its newly-launched Pasir Raja Herbal Park.
“As a Bioalpha shareholder, it is a company that we invest in using the Commercialisation of Research and Development Fund. We will continue to support the growth of the company as it is expanding not only locally but also in Indonesia and China.
“We are (also) investing because it also provides job opportunities, especially to the people of Pasir Raja, and also developing its own technologies and products that can compete in international markets, as well as conducting R&D with experts from local universities,” he told Bernama after the recent launch of the Pasir Raja Integrated Herbal Park.
