Speedy lifeguard recover stolen goods

PETALING JAYA: Fast action by a lifeguard at the PJ Palms Sports Centre helped a customer to retrieve his stolen mobile phone and wallet within 15 minutes during an incident at Lorong Sultan, Seksyen 52 here today.
In the 4.28pm incident, the victim realised his phone and wallet was missing and alerted the management of the sports centre.
A spokesperson from the sports centre when contacted said that the victim was brought to the management office upon alerting staff about his missing belongings.
"The management staff and the victim proceeded to check the centre's closed-circuit television (CCTV) recording which revealed three teenagers stealing the victims' belongings," the spokesperson told theSun.
19-year-old lifeguard Manigandaa Keertan who was present at the time quickly ran to the nearby Light-rail Transit (LRT) station and confronted the three boys who returned the stolen items.
"The items were subsequently returned to the victim and the incident was settled amicably," added the spokesperson.
The victim also bought a cake for the management team as appreciation for the team's quick and efficient action.
