KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested and remanded the suspect allegedly involved in the murder of a Bangladeshi woman whose mutilated body was found packed in two travel bags in Sungai Gombak near Putra World Trade Centre on July 5.
The 37-year-old Bangladeshi man, believed to be the husband of the victim, was arrested at 2am in Johor on Tuesday.
City police CID chief SAC Rusdi Mohd Isa said the suspect will be remanded until Aug 1.
"He is being held at the Dang Wangi district central lock-up," he said today.
The two bags containing the victim's dismembered body was found by a passer-by along Sungai Gombak.
Last week, police released the photograph of the suspect, Md Shahzada Saju, and urged those who knew of his whereabouts to contact them.
It is learnt that the man and the victim had been renting a room on the fourth floor of a shophouse in Jalan Ipoh.
