KUALA LUMPUR: The contractor in charge of cleaning services at the Kuala Lumpur Court Complex will face stern action for failing to fulfil the contract, including having it terminated.
Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Law) Datuk Liew Vui Keong said there should be 120 cleaners daily at work at the complex according to the contract, but this was not done.
"Despite the payment that the government has duly made to the contractor, this still happened," Liew said after his walkabout at the complex today.
He said the contract had stipulated that 120 cleaners should be deployed daily, but on some days only half of them turned up.
"On July 22, none turned up," Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Mohamed Hanipa Maidin added.
Chief Justice Tan Sri Richard Malanjum, Chief Judge for Malaya Tan Sri Zahara Ibrahim, Liew and Hanipa also took part in the inspection.
The Chief Justice had called for a "gotong-royong" after the cleaners went on strike.
