Satu contractor in remand over false claim of RM11,060

KUALA TERENGGANU: A contractor with the state's water concessionaire, Syarikat Air Terengganu (Satu), is in remand for seven days from today, for allegedly making false claim, totalling RM11,060, in 2017.
The remand order was issued by Sessions Court/Magistrate's Court senior assistant registrar Noradila Ab Latif following an application by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
The contractor, aged 50, was detained at about 5.30pm yesterday under Section 18 of the MACC Act for allegedly making false claims for renovation work of a garage roof at the Satu depot, Gong Badak, in December last year.
He faced an imprisonment for up to 20 years and fine of not less than five times the sum or value of the gratification, or RM10,000, whichever is higher if found guilty. — Bernama
