Five suspects detained for falsifying immigration documents

KUALA LUMPUR: The Immigration Department arrested three local men and two Indonesian women believed to be involved in falsifying work and identification documents during 'Ops Serkap' on Saturday.
Department director-general Datuk Seri Mustafar Ali said the suspects, aged between 25 and 38, are believed to be members of the Geng Ah Boy syndicate, and were detained at two premises in Chow Kit and Kampung Baru here.
He said the syndicate was involved in the issuance of fake Work Approval Letters, Visit Pass (Temporary Employment) or PLKS and i-Kads for foreign workers.
"All suspects are believed to have forged Work Approval Letters, Temporary Work Visit Pas stickers and biodata attachments in fake passports and i-Kads which they sold for between RM30 to RM180 each," he told reporters, here today.
Mustafar said the case was investigated under Section 55D of the Immigration Act 1959/63 (Amendment 2002) for forgery or alteration of endorsement or document to be used as visa, permit and pass. — Bernama
