Mercedes-Benz present new S-Class family

MERCEDES-BENZ Malaysia today launched the much-anticipated new S-Class limousine, along with the S-Class cabriolet, S-Class coupe, and Mercedes-Maybach S-Class for “an exclusively diverse and holisitic” collection of Mercedes-Benz S-Class automobiles.

The company stated that the S-Class family “is the definitive statement of luxury in its purest form. From the modern luxury of the S-Class Limousine to the pair that is S-Class Cabriolet and the Mercedes-AMG S-Class Coupe offering bespoke luxury and performance luxury for the discerning connoisseur or driver, and of course the embodiment of ultimate luxury that is the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class; the S-Class family has something to fulfill every desire."
The four “family members” and their crucial “numbers”” are:
- The Mercedes-Benz S 450 L is powered by a 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine from an all-new Mercedes-Benz family of powertrains paired with a 9G-Tronic automatic transmission, developing 367hp with 500Nm of torque for a 0-100km/h time of just 5.4 seconds. This model is offered in locally-assembled format as an S 450 L AMG Line variant, priced from RM699,888*.
- The S 560 Cabriolet is powered by a 4.0-litre biturbo V8, delivering 469hp with 700Nm of torque while full-support Airmatic air suspension is fitted as standard. It is priced at RM1,310,662.21*.
- The Mercedes-AMG S 63 Coupe is powered by a 4.0-litre biturbo V8 engineered by AMG, and in this model it produces 612hp and an immense 900 Nm of torque. It is priced at RM1,461,605.60*.
- The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is offered in V8-powered S 560 and V12-powered S 650 variants, and is priced from RM1.4 million with further individualisation and personalisation available upon request.
