Three killed in accident near Kota Tinggi

JOHOR BARU: Three people were killed while another was seriously injured after the Perodua Viva car they were travelling in collided with a lorry at KM5 of Jalan Sungai Sayong-Bandar Tenggara, near Kota Tinggi, this morning.
Kota Tinggi police chief Supt Ashmon Bajah said the three dead victims were the passengers of the car, namely a man and two women between the ages of 66 and 82, while the 18-year-old driver who suffered chest injuries is being treated at the Kulai Hospital.
"Three of the victims are from Taman Sinaran, Johor Bahru while another is from Kampung Melayu, Yong Peng," he said in a statement here today.
Ashmon said the incident was believed to have occurred due to the negligence of the car driver who swerved into the path of the lorry.
The lorry driver was unharmed. — Bernama
