Senior MAHB officer remanded by MACC for taking bribes over a few years

GEORGE TOWN: A senior officer from Malaysia Airport Holding Berhad (MAHB) has been remanded for five days for allegedly receiving a monthly bribe of between RM500 and RM2,000 from 2011 to 2014.

The 59-year-old man clad in orange Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) attire arrived at about 10.15am after being detained at the office at around 2.20pm on Monday.

According to sources, the man was detained for allegedly receiving the bribe from a jewellery company in return for a space in the airport estimated at RM17,500.

Apart from the remand here in Penang, three other MAHB officers were also detained and remanded in Shah Alam, Kota Kinabalu and Labuan.
