Court complex crowded but well managed and orderly

KUALA LUMPUR: The Duta Court Complex here was crowded as police and members of the media made their presence before Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak's (pix) arrival to face additional charges over his alleged involvement in the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) fund misappropriation scandal.
Unlike the former prime minister's first case on July 4, the situation at the courthouse this time was more organised and calm.
Members of the media were told to register and obtain passes to enter the courtroom where Najib is to be charged later.
Access for the public was restricted today due to the chaos that erupted the last time when Najib's supporters turned unruly in the court compound.
However, it is learnt that space has been allocated for Najib's supporters within the court grounds.
The Malaysian-Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) confirmed that Najib will be charged again today.
The anti-graft agency said in a statement on Tuesday that the former prime minister had returned to assist their investigations into SRC International Sdn Bhd.
MACC said Najib will be charged under the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act (Amla) 2001.
On July 4, Najib was charged with misusing his position as a government official to receive an RM42mil bribe to provide a government guarantee for an RM4bil loan to SRC International Sdn Bhd.
The RM42mil allegedly went from SRC International into Najib's personal bank accounts.
The Pekan MP also faces three other charges of criminal breach of trust (CBT) in his capacity as Prime Minister, Finance Minister and Advisor Emeritus of SRC International, in which he was entrusted with the RM4bil.
SRC International was a subsidiary of 1MDB.
