Auxiliary police remanded for accepting bribe from foreigner

PUTRAJAYA: An auxiliary policeman at Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (klia2) who was suspected of accepting a RM1,300 bribe has been remanded.

Magistrate Ainna Sherina Saipolamin issued the remand order until Sunday (Aug 12) after the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) submitted its application to the magistrate court in Putrajaya here today.

According to a MACC source, the 33-year-old man with the rank of corporal was detained at 3.20pm in klia2 yesterday.

He said the auxiliary policeman was suspected of accepting RM1,300 from a foreigner as payment for allowing goods with excessive weight into a flight from Malaysia to Bandung, Indonesia.

He said several individuals were also called to give their statements following the detention of the auxiliary policeman under Section 17 (a) of the MACC Act 2009. — Bernama
