14 tender packages for food & beverage outlets at KLIA issued

    PETALING JAYA: Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) has issued 14 tender packages for retail as well as food and beverage (F&B) outlets at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).
    The packages comprising 22 lots in total and are divided into two groups; package deal category and standard category, it said in a statement.
    Under the package deal, MAHB said bidders can choose to tender for a four-lots package, which covers retail outlets for news, books and conveniences at various locations within KLIA.
    Additionally, it said there is a package deal that allows potential retail partners to be a single operator of a duty-free walkthrough emporium that carries multi-brand core products such as perfume and cosmetics, chocolate and confectionary, liquor as well as tobacco.
    MAHB said the location for this four-lots package is at the international arrival level (airside) of the main terminal building.
    “For F&B outlets, there is also a package deal for bidders to operate a casual dining restaurant within two adjoining lots. Similarly, potential retail partners can also bid for another two-lots package to operate a coffee-based F&B outlet."
    Meanwhile, MAHB said the standard package tenders offer bidders the opportunity to operate retail outlets in a multitude of categories, noting that the lot sizes under the standard package tenders range from 25 sq m to 128 sq m.
    The group noted that the tender exercise is part of its ongoing initiative to refresh the services and facilities at KLIA, with the objective of attracting reputable brands as well as encouraging innovative concepts at the airport.
    MAHB said a mandatory briefing session will be held on Aug 17 and the tender documents are available for purchase from the procurement and contract division until Sept 13.
