KLANG: A road bully who was sought by police for attacking a housewife and her young children opposite a police station here on Aug 7 was arrested on Wednesday in Petaling Jaya.
Klang South police chief ACP Shamsul Amar Ramli said today that the 24-year-old suspect was tracked down by detectives and was spotted riding a motorcycle prior to his arrest at 8pm.
"When police identified themselves to him, the suspect attempted to flee but was subdued after a brief struggle. He was remanded for four days for further investigations." he told theSun.
Shamsul said the suspect who has four past records for drug-related offences and crimes had gone into hiding on learning he was being sought by police.
He said the suspect stayed with relatives and friends to evade police detection.
On Tuesday last week, a 37-year-old woman was reversing her car, that she had parked outside the Pandamaran police station here, when the suspect who was on a motorcycle pulled over next to her car and accused her of hitting him.
The terrified woman and her children remained seated in her car as the man shouted expletives and made vulgar gestures at her.
The road bully then picked up a rock and a police traffic cone at the scene and smashed the rear windscreen of the housewife's car.
The commotion caught the attention of a policeman on duty who rushed to the aid of the victims.
However, the suspect sped off on seeing the policeman approach him.
The housewife lodged a police report and police launched a hunt for the suspect.
The victim also captured the incident on video and the footage was shared widely in the social media.
