Girl, 8, falls to death from 12th floor

GEORGE TOWN: An eight-year-old girl was found dead after she was believed to have fallen from the 12th floor of her apartment block around 3pm today.
The girl was believed to have climbed a table located beside a window that was left ajar at her apartment in Puncak Terubong here.
She was believed to be playing when she slipped and plunged to her death.
A paramedic team from the Penang Hospital arrived at the scene shortly and found the girl sprawled on the ground next to the parking lots.
Her body was brought to the hospital for a post-mortem.
Northeast district police acting head Supt V. Saravanan confirmed the case and said police would investigate to determine if there was parental negligence.
The deceased was certified as a slower learner with a disability status, but she was physically hyperactive.
