Almost all Perodua models see prices slashed 1-3% with SST

PETALING JAYA: Perodua today released new prices for all its models, with selected models seeing a reduction of between 1% and 3% with the introduction of SST.
“Based on the new tax structure, almost all Perodua models see price reductions compared to the GST price structure,” said Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd Managing Director Datuk Dr Zahari Husin.
To recap, the government zeroed the GST rate (from 6%) on June 1, 2018, according a three month long tax holiday for consumers which led to a spike in vehicle demand.
In July, the Finance Ministry announced that the SST, which was due to replace the GST, would be set at 10% for sales and 6% for services.
