GEORGE TOWN: Che Zaimani Che Awang, the new Northeast District police chief in Penang, has set tackling illegal gambling as one of his key priorities.
Zaimani, 57, has served in the Criminal Investigation Department, Commercial Crime Investigation Department and the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department in various parts of the country.
He takes over from V. Saravanan, who has been the acting district police chief. His official appointment was witnessed by state deputy police chief Datuk Roslee Chik.
