Four RTD officers in remand for corruption

KOTA KINABALU: Four Road Transport Department (RTD) officers are in remand for four days beginning today for allegedly issuing driving licence without going through stipulated procedures.
The remand order was issued by Magistrate Afiq Agoes following an application by prosecuting officer from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), Faliq Basiruddin.
The four officers, aged between 26 and 29, are from the RTD branch offices in Kota Belud, Kota Kinabalu and Tuaran.
Faliq said the RTD officers were arrested when they turned up at the MACC office in Kota Kinabalu to give their statements.
They were detained for investigation under Section 16 (a) (B)of the MACC Act, he added. — Bernama
